Hello, I’m Abigail.
I’ve spent my career working inside growing businesses, from hands-on People Operations through to People Partner and People Lead roles.
I’ve worked on the things you’d probably expect: performance, progression, managers, onboarding and People systems. But the bit I’ve always found most interesting is understanding why something isn’t working the way everyone expected it to.
I like getting into the detail. Talking to the people doing the work. Understanding what managers are finding difficult. Working out what’s useful and what’s just creating noise.
That’s really where Aster came from. I wanted to spend more of my time doing that kind of work with growing businesses, and building things that continue to be useful once I’ve gone.

Why Aster?
Growing businesses often reach an awkward middle point. The informal ways of working that got them here aren’t quite enough anymore, but turning everything into a policy or process isn’t the answer either.
That’s the bit I find interesting. Working out what genuinely needs more structure, what should stay human and what the business can make simpler.
